Techno India Group has announced Marks-Based Counselling (Physical & Online) and Spot Admission for eligible students on Wednesday, 29th July 2026, as per government norms. Admissions are open across a wide range of programmes in Engineering, Computer Applications, Management, Science, Humanities and other disciplines offered by Techno India University, Techno Main Salt Lake and other institutions under MAKAUT. Students can choose from future-ready programmes, including B.Tech CSE programmes in collaboration with Google Cloud and BCA, BBA, B.Sc(H), M.Tech CSE, M.Sc, MBA & Ph.D programmes in collaboration with IBM, providing strong industry integration and career-focused learning.
The counselling and admission process will be conducted at Techno India Main Campus, Ground Floor & 2nd Floor, EM-4, Sector V, Salt Lake, Kolkata – 700091. Candidates are requested to carry their academic mark sheets and other required documents to complete the admission process as per the scheduled counselling slots.
Continuing its tradition of celebrating academic excellence, Techno India University hosted its Annual Convocation 2026 on 26th July at Milan Mela Prangan, where degrees were conferred upon graduating students across undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in the presence of eminent dignitaries. The ceremony was graced by Dr. Ashok Kumar Lahiri, Vice-Chairperson, NITI Aayog, Govt. of India as the Chief Guest.
A major milestone of the ceremony was the formal launch of the AIC – Techno Innovation and Incubation Council (AIC-Techno). Supported by NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission, it is West Bengal’s first premier national-scale incubator aimed at strengthening the region’s startup ecosystem.
The university also recognized the exceptional contributions of several luminaries across diverse fields by awarding them Honorary Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.) degrees.This year’s distinguished recipients included Olympic Gold Medallist Abhinav Bindra, acclaimed filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, Chandrayaan-3 Project Director Dr. P. Veeramuthuvel, internationally acclaimed singer Padmashri Anup Jalota among others.
Addressing the graduating class at Techno India University’s Convocation 2026, Dr. Ashok Kumar Lahiri, Vice-Chairperson, NITI Aayog, Government of India, invoked Swami Vivekananda’s timeless call to “Arise, awake, and stop not until the goal is reached.” Encouraging students to step into the world with confidence, ambition and humility, he emphasised that individual effort and honest daily work are the building blocks of Viksit Bharat 2047. Dr. Lahiri also commended Techno India University’s vision of promoting implementation-based applied research, describing it as a refreshingly new and timely approach that is particularly relevant for the development of West Bengal and the nation.
Addressing the graduates, Prof. Suman Chakraborty, Director, IIT Kharagpur, described the Convocation as the beginning of a new journey where knowledge, character and values lay the foundation for future leadership. He also congratulated Techno India University on its collaboration with the IIT Kharagpur Outreach Course Network, through which eligible Techno India University students also become part of the IIT Kharagpur OCN. Encouraging the graduates to look ahead with confidence and purpose, he urged them to make meaningful contributions to society, the nation and humanity at large.
Addressing the graduating class of 2025-26, Olympic gold medalist Shri Abhinav Bindra expressed profound honor in receiving an honorary doctorate from Techno India University, reflecting on the valuable lessons older generations can learn from the character and unique perspectives of the youth. Emphasizing that true wisdom lies in continuous curiosity rather than absolute certainty. Ultimately, Abhinav Bindra reminded the audience that true success is measured not just by personal achievements, but by one’s character, kindness, and ability to lift others up along the way.
