THE RENDER GAMES: Where Prompts Became Power at TIU

On 6th January 2026, the creative energy at Techno India University hit an entirely new level as first-year students of the School of the Future stepped into a high-octane, futuristic battleground of imagination and intelligence—THE RENDER GAMES.

With the electrifying tagline “May the Seeds Be Ever in Your Favor,” the two-hour Gamified AI Art Tournament transformed the conventional idea of an AI workshop into an immersive, competitive, and unforgettable experience. Hosted on the Google Gemini (Free Tier) platform, the session proved one thing loud and clear: AI is not just a tool—it’s a weapon when used right.

The session was conducted by Aritra BoseGoogle Certified Educator and Technical Associate at Techno India University, whose dynamic storytelling and sharp technical insights kept the students hooked from start to finish.

Initialization: Choosing the Weapon

The event kicked off with a dramatic “Download & Safety Briefing”, setting the tone for what was about to unfold. Students were introduced to the core philosophy of the session through a striking live demo—comparing a basic Level 1 prompt like “A cat” with a jaw-dropping God-Tier prompt featuring cinematic detail, lighting, mood, and style.

The message was clear and powerful: “Gemini is not a search engine. It is a rendering engine. You don’t ask; you command.”

To manage free-tier limitations, participants were introduced to the clever “Sniper Rule”—draft your prompt carefully in Notepad and generate only when fully confident. Every click mattered.

Adding a fun twist was the “Glitch Bounty” side quest, where AI-generated mishaps—extra fingers, melting faces, surreal distortions—were celebrated instead of discarded. The weirdest and funniest glitch earned a special fun prize, turning errors into entertainment.

Gameplay Begins: 90 Minutes of Pure Adrenaline

Round 1: Mission – IM-PROMPT-ABLE

This logic-driven round challenged students to visually describe a famous character without using names, franchises, or proper nouns. Acting like a “Reverse Akinator,” Gemini had to identify the character purely from visual clues. The precision and creativity on display left everyone impressed.

Round 2: PROMPTAL KOMBAT

The energy skyrocketed as students entered a 1v1 speed duel on the big screen. Given three random elements—like a profession, location, and food—participants had just 60 seconds to fuse them into a coherent visual narrative. The instant decision by the Gamemaker kept the suspense high, and winners proudly walked away with a physical Speedster Badge.

Round 3: THE WALL OF FRAME

The grand finale pushed students to think like AI artists and engineers. With the theme “Kolkata x Future”, participants had only five generations to create their masterpiece. From neon-lit Howrah Bridges to futuristic trams and cyberpunk ghats, the results were nothing short of spectacular.

The Top 20 images were selected for physical printing and framing, destined to be displayed permanently on the university’s Wall of Frame—a lasting legacy for the creators.

Shutdown: Celebration & Legacy

The event concluded with a vibrant ceremony. Students submitted their best creations via a QR-code-based upload system to a shared Google Photos album.

More than just a competition, The Render Games became a celebration of creativity, strategy, and future-ready thinking. For the first-year students of the School of the Future, it wasn’t just a session—it was a glimpse into how imagination and technology can collide to create something extraordinary.

With innovative curation by Aritra Bose and enthusiastic participation from students, the event truly embodied the spirit of the School of the Future—bold, experimental, and unapologetically ahead of its time.

It wasn’t just a session; it was a glimpse into how the future of creation will be built at TIU.
