ASMI Business School’s International Study Tour 2025 turned Malaysia into a place of inspiration, growth and unforgettable moments for the students. The MBA 2nd-year cohort, eager to explore learning beyond borders, found Kuala Lumpur alive with colour, culture and opportunity — setting the stage for a journey that would shape their perspectives far beyond traditional academics.
The tour began with a deep dive into Malaysia’s heritage and modernity through visits to Merdeka Square, the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, and the vibrant Kuala Lumpur City Centre. These landmark explorations helped students understand how a country’s cultural identity aligns with economic development, a crucial perspective for future business leaders. A flavorful stop at Harriston’s Chocolate Boutique added a sweet twist to the day, before the group bonded over dinner at an Indian restaurant — laughter, conversations and excitement marking the beginning of lifelong memories.
Day two amplified the fun as students were given a full day to explore Kuala Lumpur on their own — and the city did not disappoint. From street markets buzzing with local charm to futuristic malls packed with global brands, the MBA students embraced every moment. These shared adventures, spontaneous discoveries and group selfies strengthened their friendships and added a lively human touch to their academic journey. For many, this day became the emotional heart of the trip.

The third day shifted the focus to global academic exposure with visits to Universiti Malaya and Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) — two of Malaysia’s most reputed institutions. Here, the MBA students engaged with international faculty, experienced diverse learning ecosystems and explored case studies rooted in global business trends, innovation management and cross-border entrepreneurship. This exposure widened their perspective on how management education evolves across cultures. As MBA student Sristhi Ghosh said, “This study tour made everything feel bigger — the world, the opportunities, the dreams. Learning here felt truly global.”
The highlight of industry interaction arrived with the visit to Bufori Motor Car Company, known for its handcrafted luxury automobiles. Watching master craftsmen design, build and assemble every part of these iconic vehicles offered MBA students insights into luxury brand management, product differentiation, niche market strategy and artisanal engineering. The experience demonstrated how passion, precision and heritage form the backbone of premium global brands.
The next morning brought another exceptional learning opportunity at LiGNO Biotech, the world’s first Tiger Milk Mushroom cultivation expert recognized by the Malaysia Book of Records. The session exposed students to biotechnology innovation, sustainable business practices, global nutraceutical markets and the commercialization of scientific research. Student Triparna shared, “LiGNO Biotech completely changed my perception of innovation. It showed us how unconventional ideas can turn into powerful global business models.”

Before bidding goodbye to Malaysia, the group explored the breathtaking city of Putrajaya, Malaysia’s administrative capital known for its futuristic architecture, serene water bodies and modern city planning. Walking through its well-designed streets allowed students to understand how governance, infrastructure and vision come together to shape a nation’s global identity.
By the close of the tour, the MBA 2nd-year students returned not just with photos and souvenirs but with something far more valuable — international exposure, real-world industry insights, stronger professional confidence and a global mindset. They experienced firsthand how businesses operate beyond borders, how innovation thrives in diverse environments and how cultural intelligence enhances leadership capabilities.
This study tour wasn’t just an academic requirement — it became a keystone experience in their MBA journey, shaping them into future-ready, globally competitive professionals. Malaysia gave them memories, lessons, friendships and perspectives that will guide their careers for years to come.
