The spirit of creativity and entrepreneurship came alive at Techno India University as The Biryani Canteen proudly hosted the first-ever Campus Flea — Student Flea Market on 27–28 November 2025. The event marked a vibrant step forward in nurturing student-led brands, giving young innovators a platform to showcase their ideas, products, and passions.
Students didn’t just come to browse — they came to support, to celebrate, and to hype up their own community. The atmosphere? Crowded, chaotic in the best way, and absolutely electric.
Every stall told a story. Every product came with passion. And the smiles on the faces of student entrepreneurs as customers kept walking in? Priceless.
Art & Craft: Talent You Have to Talk About
Th3 Clay 4ffair stole attention early in the day with their handcrafted clay accessories.
Astha Singh, along with her two teammates shared an energetic and heartfelt reflection on their experience at the Campus Flea. “We’re basically a trio of tech geeks who somehow ended up creating clay art — and being here felt surreal in the best way. Events like this are so important because they give young innovators and small startups the push we honestly need. Even though we’re a new brand, the response today was insane. Students kept stopping by, asking about our journey, and genuinely wanting to know how it all began. It was so uplifting. We felt seen, supported, and incredibly motivated. We’re walking away from this event grateful, inspired, and excited for more opportunities like this.”






The stall Artomaniacs, a creative stall run by a team of three, shared their experience through team member Jagriti Das, highlighted that events like this are a huge boost for small and student-led businesses, providing a real opportunity to understand the market and what people value. Being her first time participating, she found the experience both exciting and insightful, allowing her to connect closely with students and the community. The stall saw great interaction and sales, but what stood out most was engaging with visitors and hearing their feedback. Though the day was a bit tiring, it was incredibly rewarding. Jagriti expressed heartfelt gratitude for being part of the Make Calcutta Relevant Again initiative, calling it an honour and a meaningful step in growing her young brand. A team member said, “We started this brand in our hostel room. Today counts as our biggest day yet.”
Terra & Tome brought earthy décor and sustainable craft pieces that had shoppers stopping mid-walk. Bani Chowdhury, founder of Terra and Tome, said that events like this greatly motivate small business owners by giving them confidence and support. She shared that her experience as a stall owner was amazing, with visitors appreciating her handmade products. Being part of the Make Calcutta Relevant Again initiative left her feeling excited, inspired, and grateful.
Vibgyor , Rupangi Sarkar, Our brand Vibgyor, showcased a range of handmade art and craft items — including hand-painted bookmarks, decorative clips, and cute phone charms. “This initiative is really helpful for those who can’t afford to buy stalls. The experience was truly amazing, and I’m very grateful to be a part of this effort to make Kolkata relevant again. Thanks to Meghdut Sir for this opportunity”.
Lifestyle: Aesthetic, Trendy, & Totally Gen Z
Students absolutely flocked to Chayaan (6YN) Collections, known for their elegant ethnic pieces. Swapnil Roy, the owner of Chayaan (6YN) Collections, shared that events like this are a true game-changer for small brands, offering exposure far beyond what they could achieve online or on their own. As a first-time participant, he found the experience incredibly rewarding, with strong sales and meaningful interactions throughout the day. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Meghdut Sir and the Make Calcutta Relevant Again initiative for creating a platform that helps small businesses grow, reach more customers, and gain the visibility they need in their early stages.The founder smiled and said, “This event gave us the push we needed. Selling offline hits different — you feel the customer’s reaction instantly.”
The REBELLIONS came in strong with bold apparel and statement pieces. Owned by Triparna Ghosh, shared that being part of the flea market has been a wonderful opportunity. She expressed her gratitude towards Meghdut RoyChow+dhury for initiating such a meaningful platform and mentioned that she has been following Make Calcutta Relevant’s podcasts and their efforts to support young entrepreneurs. Triparna added that she feels truly thankful to have the chance to showcase her products and herself through this initiative. designer said, “Our designs are for people who refuse to blend in. And today, we met so many of them.”
Miyava.in showcased trendy clothing and minimal accessories that sold out faster than expected. “I was honestly super nervous at the start, but the crowd here changed everything. The response was so warm, and the sales gave me the confidence I didn’t even know I needed. I really hope Techno hosts more events like this — it’s such a big push for student-led Indian businesses. I’m genuinely grateful to Techno India University and Make Calcutta Relevant Again for creating a platform where young entrepreneurs like us can actually grow.” shared Tanisha Gupta.
“I’m Srijayee Bhattacharya, and I honestly loved this initiative. My stall, which showcased a collection of posters and polaroids, received an amazing response from students. Many customers were excited to see items featuring their favorite artists and characters, and it was wonderful to see their genuine enthusiasm and curiosity. Being able to interact with so many people, share my work, and get direct feedback made the experience even more special. Being part of this event was truly a memorable and inspiring experience. A heartfelt thank you to Meghdut Sir for giving us this incredible opportunity to showcase our creations and connect with the community.”
Sadhana showcased a vibrant range of handmade beaded bands, each beautifully packaged and thoughtfully designed. Their colourful collection drew steady attention from students, becoming a popular stop for those looking for unique, affordable accessories. The stall reflected the brand’s creativity and the care behind every piece.






Die-cast Collectibles: A Niche That Found Its Crowd
Dibyaranjan Nath, owner of Collectors Den, shared that they received an unexpectedly strong response at the event. Their collection of toy cars, including officially licensed Hot Wheels and other die-cast models, drew a lot of excitement from students. He added that the opportunity came through meeting Kandor, and he feels truly humbled and grateful to be part of this initiative. Overall, the experience as a startup was amazing and highly encouraging. “I always thought this was too niche. But today proved there’s an audience everywhere — you just need a platform.” shared Dibyaranjan.
Food & Beverages: The Sweetest Show-Stealers
Dessert Drip, owned by Amrita Kundu, emphasized that events like this play a crucial role in supporting small and indie brands, giving students a unique opportunity to showcase their ideas. Since it was her first time setting up a stall, the experience felt both exciting and eye-opening. She genuinely enjoyed interacting with students, receiving feedback, and observing firsthand what people are drawn to. She described the atmosphere as lively and engaging, with many visitors exploring her products and sharing their thoughts. Being part of the Make Calcutta Relevant Again initiative was a meaningful experience for her, and she expressed sincere gratitude to Meghdut Sir for providing this platform. Amrita hopes to participate in more such events in the future, continuing to learn, grow, and connect with the community. A founder said, “We thought people would maybe try one or two items… but they kept coming back. It feels amazing.”
BHHM Confectioners drew long queues with their handmade chocolates and treats. But beyond the sales, what truly stood out was the confidence the students gained from seeing people appreciate their creations — a boost that will stay with them beyond the event.
Techno India University has always encouraged creativity, innovation, and independent thinking, but today was a reminder of how deeply it supports student entrepreneurship. By giving students a space to showcase their ideas, the university is helping them take their first real step into business — one that goes beyond textbooks or theory.
As the event concluded, it left behind an inspiring message: when students are given a platform, they rise with ideas, passion, and purpose. The overwhelming participation and engagement have set the foundation for many more such initiatives in the future, strengthening the culture of creativity and enterprise at TIU.
If today proved anything, it’s this: Techno students don’t wait for opportunities — they create them. And the Techno community shows up, supports, and amplifies them.
