Techno India Group welcomed the spirit of Durga Pujo this year with a powerful message of sustainability and cultural pride. At its Salt Lake Main Campus, the institution unveiled a stunning 5’3” idol of Maa Durga, crafted entirely out of jute by 15 students and art teachers over a period of 26 days.
Now in its fourth year, this initiative beautifully blends tradition with innovation, celebrating Bengal’s deep-rooted jute heritage while promoting eco-friendly practices that reduce environmental impact. The jute idol stands as a striking reminder that festivals can pay homage not only to culture and spirituality but also to our responsibility toward the planet.

The unveiling ceremony was graced by Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury, Co-Chairperson of Techno India Group; Meghdut RoyChowdhury, Chief Innovation Officer; Pauline Laravoire, Sustainability Director; and Nicholas Notini Wallin. Adding to the celebrations, music composers Sourendro & Soumyajit and Dona Ganguly shared their greetings digitally, while the legendary Padma Shri Gokul Chandra Das and his troupe filled the campus with the soul-stirring resonance of the dhaak.

The celebrations continued with vibrant student performances, filling the atmosphere with energy and devotion. Together, these moments marked the symbolic homecoming of Amar Dugga to the Techno India Group campus.
With devotion, creativity, and responsibility at its heart, the eco-friendly idol reflects the institution’s belief that heritage and sustainability can walk hand in hand — creating new traditions for generations to come.
