August 4, 2025: A vibrant exchange of ideas, dreams, and entrepreneurial energy took place today at the G Series Hall, as students from the BCA and BBA departments came together for an exclusive interactive session featuring two dynamic personalities — Meghdut RoyChowdhury and Akshika Poddar.
Organized under Techno India University’s mission to bridge the gap between academia and industry, the event wasn’t just another college seminar — it was a pulse of inspiration that stirred the minds of over 100 aspiring professionals.
The session kicked off with a warm welcome by the anchor, setting a lively tone. The spotlight then turned to the special guests: Meghdut RoyChowdhury, Chief Innovation Officer at Techno India Group and Akshika Poddar, the powerhouse entrepreneur behind ‘House of Rare and Rare Rabbit’ — brands that have made a bold mark in India’s fashion scene.
Akshika Poddar took centre stage and dived straight into her story. She shared how she started ‘Rare Rabbit’ and ‘Rareism’ from ground zero, transforming them into brands that today speak the language of Indian fashion-forward youth.
What set her journey apart? A deep understanding of unmet needs. She noticed a major gap in the Indian fashion market: stylish, premium menswear and well-fitted women’s wear tailored to Indian body types. “We wanted to make India fashionable,” she said with a smile, explaining how the lack of creativity in men’s fashion in India pushed her to innovate.

With ‘Rareism’, she went one step further — offering stylish, comfortable fits for Indian women of all shapes and sizes. “The psychology of our brand is rooted in inclusivity and authenticity,” she added, striking a chord with the audience.
What followed was a heart-to-heart conversation between Meghdut RoyChowdhury and Akshika Poddar. They discussed the entrepreneurial hustle, the evolving start-up culture, and how young people can be the torchbearers of India’s future.
Akshika emphasized why she mentors young talent: “I’m a patriot,” she said passionately. “The future of our country lies in education and entrepreneurship. The more we mentor, the brighter India’s future becomes.”
She also highlighted the immense creative potential of East India. “This region is soaked in art, culture, and design. It has what it takes to lead India’s fashion innovation,” she said.
The heart of the event was the student Q&A session, where a steady stream of curious minds posed thoughtful and fearless questions — with no topic off-limits.
One student asked about the emotional and mental toll of running a business. Meghdut RoyChowdhury’s response was honest and relatable. “Failure is your friend,” he said. “You need to stay curious, stay grounded and most importantly — keep learning.”
Another student asked how ‘Rare Rabbit’ handled the intense competition in the fashion space back in 2015. Akshika’s reply was crisp: “Product differentiation. If you truly understand your customer and focus on delivering a great product, you stand out — no matter how crowded the market is.”
On identifying market gaps, she explained how listening closely to consumers led her to build products that were missing from the Indian fashion narrative. “Understanding your audience is everything. Build for them, not just for trends,” she said.
When asked about the aesthetic vision behind Rare Rabbit she said, “We started with one mission — to make India fashionable. That vision still drives us every day.”
What made the event stand out was its relatability. The speakers didn’t speak from a pedestal — they shared from experience. They offered not just inspiration, but practical wisdom. They talked about branding, failures, market gaps, competition, self-doubt, and mental grit — topics often left out of textbooks.
The duo encouraged students to explore beyond conventional paths. Whether it’s starting their own ventures or innovating within companies, students were urged to think differently, stay agile, and build meaningful networks.
To wrap up this memorable day, Techno India surprised everyone by handing out exclusive vouchers worth thousands of rupees to all attendees — a gesture that sparked cheers and capped the event with smiles and selfies.
This wasn’t just another event — it was a turning point for many students. It gave them a peek into the real-world challenges of entrepreneurship, a chance to engage directly with industry leaders, and most importantly, a boost of confidence to dream big.
Techno India continues to champion experiential learning and career readiness through such initiatives. Events like these are clear proof of the institution’s commitment to developing not just academically strong students, but bold thinkers and future leaders. As students exited the hall, there was a new energy in the air — a blend of curiosity, courage, and the feeling that the future isn’t something to fear — it’s something to build.
