Techno India Group Public School-Garia Hosts CBSE STEM Innovation Workshop

Techno India Group Public School, Garia proudly hosted the CBSE District Level Deliberation (DLD) Workshop on STEM Education on 19th June 2025. This significant event, guided by the CBSE Centre of Excellence, Bhubaneswar, brought together educators from across South 24 Parganas to share innovative ideas and explore creative ways to make STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education more exciting and effective.

The workshop aimed to promote inquiry-based learning and hands-on teaching methods, aligning with the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It encouraged schools to move beyond traditional teaching and adopt real-life, meaningful classroom experiences that help students build skills in research, development, and entrepreneurship. The day began with a warm and respectful lamp-lighting ceremony conducted by the Appreciation Committee. The committee included Ms. Tania Sen, Principal of TIGPS-Garia and CBSE District Training Coordinator for South 24 Parganas; Mr. Dipankar Bhattacharya, Principal of Techno Main Salt Lake and Pro-Vice Chancellor of Techno India University; and Dr. Apala Chakraborty, Principal of Future Scholars Academy. A soulful prayer song by the school choir added to the positive and thoughtful atmosphere of the event.

In her welcome address, Ms. Tania Sen spoke passionately about the importance of transforming classroom experiences. She highlighted that today’s education must be interactive and innovative, focusing on the needs and interests of students while helping them develop real-world problem-solving skills. The event saw active participation from five schools—Jyotirmoy Public School, Saini International School, Silver Point School, Swarnim International School and the host school, TIGPS-Garia. Each institution presented a case study showcasing unique classroom practices and approaches in STEM education.

The presentations covered a wide range of topics including hands-on practical learning, using STEM education for sustainable development, and inspiring students to explore modern technologies like Artificial Intelligence, coding, robotics, and design thinking. These presentations were evaluated by the Appreciation Committee, who offered valuable feedback and shared insights to further improve and enrich the teaching methods discussed. The event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving behind a powerful message of collaboration and growth.

This workshop was a proud moment for Techno India Group as it continues its journey to create future-ready learning environments that are student-centric and innovation-driven. It also reflects the group’s broader vision of educational excellence, which spans multiple institutions and levels across Eastern India.
