Monoshij Launch Project Shakti for Bidhannagar Police Mental Wellness

In an inspiring effort to strengthen the emotional well-being of those who protect our communities, Monoshij, the mental health initiative founded by Prof. Manoshi Roy Chowdhary, Co-chairperson of Techno India Group, organised a special workshop titled Project Shakti – Fortifying the Force Through Psychological First Aid for the Bidhannagar Police. Held on October 31, 2025, at the Techno India campus, the session aimed to provide frontline police personnel with tools to manage stress, enhance emotional resilience, and promote mental wellness in the line of duty.

The workshop aimed to promote emotional preparedness and resilience among police personnel, who often serve as the first responders in times of crisis—witnessing accidents, crimes, and other distressing situations. Recognising the emotional toll this can take, Project Shakti was designed to help officers manage psychological stress and enhance their ability to support themselves and others during critical moments.

The event was graced by Sri Ishan Sinha, IPS, Assistant Commissioner of Police, South Bidhannagar, who appreciated the initiative and shared valuable insights on the importance of emotional resilience among police personnel. Prof. Manoshi Roy Chowdhary also addressed the gathering, emphasizing compassion and emotional strength as the true pillars of harmony and effective public service.

Speaking about the initiative, Prof. Roy Chowdhary shared, “Supporting those who support others is essential. Our police personnel carry the emotional weight of the community’s crises. Their well-being deserves equal attention. Through Project Shakti, we aim to empower them with knowledge, care, and emotional strength.”

Project Shakti’s Psychological First Aid module equips police officers with practical tools to manage stress and trauma, enabling them to remain emotionally grounded while facing high-pressure situations. Beyond enhancing individual well-being, the program encourages empathy-driven policing—fostering public trust and strengthening the bond between the police and the community.

This collaborative initiative between Monoshij and the Bidhannagar Police reflects a shared vision of building emotionally resilient public service systems where mental wellness is seen as an essential aspect of professional excellence and community service.
