Peace is not merely the absence of conflict; it is a living presence, tender and transformative. This vision came alive on 19th September 2025, when Monoshij, the wellness wing of Techno India Group, marked International Peace Day with a unique outdoor event at RDB Cinemas, turning an ordinary street corner into a sanctuary of reflection, connection, and hope.
The event began with the soulful lines:
“Peace is not silence, but a song softly sung,
A whisper of hope where the battles are done.
It blooms in the heart when forgiveness takes root,
And anger falls quiet, its fire made mute.”
These words set the tone for the day, reminding everyone that peace is not a distant dream but a lived experience, cultivated in daily acts of kindness, compassion, and self-awareness.
Unlike conventional programs held behind closed doors, this initiative embraced the bustling streets of Kolkata. By stepping out of classrooms and auditoriums, Monoshij’s team of Clinical and Counselling Psychologists brought the message of peace directly into the community. The location – RDB Cinemas, a hub of city life – was chosen deliberately, symbolizing how peace must thrive not in isolation, but amidst the rhythm and rush of everyday existence. Passersby were welcomed into a warm, inclusive space where they could pause, reflect, and participate. The event blurred boundaries between spectators and participants, transforming sidewalks into vibrant spaces of dialogue and discovery.

Throughout the day, the street resonated with activities designed to spark self-awareness and cultivate calm. Guided mindfulness sessions encouraged people to take simple pauses – a few deep breaths, a mindful listen, a shared word of gratitude. These practices demonstrated how, even in a noisy world, inner balance can be reclaimed through small, intentional steps.
Creative installations drew curious onlookers into moments of contemplation. Mirrors inscribed with affirmations invited individuals to look inward, while art boards encouraged expressions of “What peace means to me.” Children, adults, and elders alike left colourful messages that turned the pavement into a collective canvas of hope and resilience. At the heart of the event were the spontaneous conversations sparked between the Monoshij team and participants. From students worried about academic pressure to professionals grappling with digital fatigue, the interactions revealed how deeply mental wellness connects with the pursuit of peace.
One of the facilitators, emphasized: “Peace is not just about nations or treaties. It begins within us – in how we breathe, how we listen, how we respond to life. By practicing self-care and emotional resilience, we build the foundations of a more peaceful society.” These exchanges transformed the street into a living classroom, where mental health was not a clinical topic but an everyday reality, spoken about openly and without stigma.
One of the event’s most powerful messages was that peace need not be grand or abstract. It can be found in the pause between heartbeats, the calm in the storm, a shelter of kindness where love takes form. Through breathing exercises, listening circles, and reflective activities, participants discovered how accessible and practical peace can be in daily routines.
Importantly, the event highlighted the intersection of peace and mental wellness. In today’s fast-paced digital age, where constant notifications and online pressures dominate lives, the Monoshij team reminded participants that balance can be restored through mindful practices. Normalizing conversations around stress, anxiety, and emotional care became a crucial step in de-stigmatizing mental health and integrating it into the broader vision of global peace.
As the day unfolded, the street outside RDB Cinemas transformed. Laughter mixed with quiet contemplation. Strangers exchanged smiles and stories. Children painted symbols of harmony, while adults lingered in circles of stillness. What could have been just another busy city pavement instead became a vibrant tableau of community and compassion. From small acts of participation to profound moments of silence, the event demonstrated how collective efforts can ripple outward, fostering peace far beyond a single gathering.
The day concluded not with fanfare but with gratitude. Monoshij extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined – whether by engaging in activities, sharing reflections, or simply pausing for a moment of stillness amidst their busy routines.
In the words of one participant: “I came here rushing between meetings. I left carrying a sense of calm I didn’t know I needed.” Such sentiments captured the very essence of the initiative: to remind people that peace is always within reach, waiting to be nurtured.
While International Peace Day served as the occasion, the message extended far beyond September 19. By creating this open and accessible space, Techno India Group and Monoshij reinforced their commitment to integrating mental wellness, community dialogue, and holistic growth into education and society.
The event affirmed that peace is not just a global aspiration but a personal responsibility – a practice woven into breathing, forgiving, sharing, and caring. As the poem recited at the opening reminded everyone, peace is “sunlight that breaks through the darkest of skies, a mirror of truth in the depths of our eyes.”
Through this celebration, Techno India Group continues to lead with innovation not only in academics but also in social and emotional well-being, building a future where education and humanity walk hand in hand.
