Code Champions: Techno India University Triumphs at IBM National Hackathon 2025

Techno India University proudly celebrates a landmark achievement as its talented B.Tech students brought glory to the institution at the prestigious IBM National Hackathon 2025, held on August 6th–7th at the S-Vyasa School of Advanced Studies, Bangalore.

The Hackathon, a 24-hour coding marathon, witnessed the participation of some of the brightest student innovators from across the country. Representing Techno India University, three exceptional teams, including a dedicated all-female diversity team, showcased their technical acumen, determination, and creativity.

Throughout the event, the students were guided by IBM leaders and university professors, gaining valuable industry insights before diving headlong into solving real-world problem statements using Python, Java, and C++. After an intense coding session that lasted through the night, the teams presented their innovative solutions before the esteemed panel of evaluators.

Among these outstanding performers, Team No. 3 — comprising Santu Manna, Tanu Jha, Ranit Saha, and Lalan Kumar from B.Tech CSE and CSE (AI & ML) — emerged as national champions. Tasked with the challenging problem statement of building a Custom Memory Allocator using C++, the team impressed judges with their technical expertise and practical solution. Their success not only marks a national-level victory but also opens doors to exciting pre-placement opportunities with IBM India Systems Development Lab.

Speaking on the achievement, the university expressed immense pride in its students’ dedication and excellence: “This remarkable success is a testament to the talent, resilience, and innovation of our students. Competing against some of the finest young minds of the country, our teams upheld the spirit of Techno India University and brought home a prestigious national recognition.”

The event also highlighted Techno India University’s commitment to fostering innovation, diversity, and industry readiness among its students. The participation of an all-female team further emphasized the university’s focus on encouraging inclusivity in technology and empowering women in STEM.

As the results were declared on August 8th, 2025, Techno India University proudly celebrated not just a victory but a defining moment in its journey of nurturing future leaders in technology.
