In a significant initiative aimed at enhancing road safety, Techno India Group Public School (TIGPS) Konnagar today collaborated with the Chandannagar Police Commissionerate to conduct a comprehensive Traffic Awareness Programme. The vital session saw active participation from students, parents, and school pool car drivers, underscoring a collective commitment to safer roads.

The programme, held within the school premises, addressed critical aspects of traffic rules and responsible road behaviour. Experts from the Chandannagar Police Commissionerate provided invaluable insights into pedestrian safety, the importance of obeying traffic signals, wearing seatbelts and helmets, and avoiding distractions while on the road.
A key focus of the workshop was to sensitize all stakeholders – particularly the pool car drivers responsible for student commutes – about safe driving practices, vehicle maintenance, and adherence to regulations. Discussions also touched upon the shared responsibility of parents in ensuring their children’s safety, both as pedestrians and passengers.

Students, as future road users, were engaged through interactive discussions, learning about the potential dangers of disregarding traffic norms and the importance of developing good road habits from a young age. The initiative aimed to foster a culture of vigilance and responsibility, ensuring that children understand their role in contributing to a safer traffic environment.

TIGPS Konnagar and the Chandannagar Police Commissionerate expressed their mutual satisfaction with the programme’s success, highlighting the importance of such collaborative efforts in building a more disciplined and safety-conscious community. The event served as a timely reminder that road safety is a shared responsibility, demanding continuous awareness and adherence from every individual.
