Techno Billion AI Unveils ‘Indira AI’ — India’s First AI-Powered Teaching Assistant for Schools

Techno Billion AI (TBAI), the innovative ed-tech arm of Techno India Group, recently offered a glimpse into the future of education with an interactive demonstration of Indira AI, a groundbreaking AI-powered humanoid teaching assistant. The event, a collaboration with Makerlab, took place at the Techno India Salt Lake Campus and provided principals, teachers, and eager primary school students from across Techno India Group Public Schools (TIGPS) with a hands-on experience of this cutting-edge educational tool.

For five hours, attendees witnessed the capabilities of Indira AI, a voice-activated assistant powered by the advanced technologies of OpenAI and generative AI. Designed to be more than just a technological novelty, Indira AI aims to be a seamless, responsive, and emotionally intelligent companion in the learning journey. The demonstration showcased its ability to host engaging quizzes, gamify lessons to enhance student participation, answer a multitude of student queries in various languages, and provide valuable assistance to teachers with their daily classroom tasks.

The visionary behind this initiative is Meghdut Roychowdhury, the Executive Director & Chief Innovation Officer of Techno India Group, who is spearheading the project through Techno Billion AI. The operational leadership is being provided by Abhrajit Saha, Co-Founder & Director of TBAI.

“This is not just a tech showcase – it’s a turning point for how we envision the future of education in India,” stated Meghdut Roychowdhury with palpable enthusiasm. “By integrating AI into early learning, we are laying the foundation for a generation that grows up with innovation as second nature. Indira AI is here to make learning joyful, interactive, and future-ready.”

The ambitious event and the broader vision behind Indira AI have garnered strong support from Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury, the Co-Chairperson of Techno India Group, who has long championed futuristic and inclusive educational solutions within the institution.

“At Techno India Group, we’ve always believed in giving our students access to tomorrow’s tools, today,” Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury affirmed. “Indira AI represents a giant leap forward in accessible, creative, and compassionate learning environments.”

Echoing this sentiment, Abhrajit Saha emphasized the long-term impact of introducing AI to young minds. “We believe that introducing AI to children in a safe, fun, and constructive way will empower them to be creators, not just consumers,” he explained. “This is about unlocking curiosity and sparking the entrepreneurial mindset early on.”

Adding another dimension to the event was the AI on Wheels mobile AI lab experience. This innovative setup allowed children to actively participate in certified AI activities and projects, encouraging them to think beyond the confines of traditional textbooks and foster a deeper understanding of artificial intelligence.

The introduction of Indira AI and the “AI on Wheels” initiative are integral to Techno Billion AI’s overarching mission: to empower a billion people with AI. By starting within the classroom, TBAI aims to ensure that students, parents, and educators across India become active participants in the burgeoning AI revolution. The demonstration of Indira AI marks a significant step towards a future where technology seamlessly integrates with education, creating more dynamic and effective learning experiences for all.
