Techno Billion AI Lab Launches in Ziro Valley: Bringing AI to India’s Borders

Tech for All, AI for Bharat

Some of the biggest changes in history don’t start in boardrooms or tech parks. They begin in places where passion meets opportunity. One such revolution has now begun in Ziro Valley, Arunachal Pradesh—a place close to the China border, proving that modern technology is not just for big cities but for everyone.

On March 7, 2025, Techno Billion AI, backed by Techno India Group, officially inaugurated its first AI Lab in Ziro Valley. This isn’t just another tech initiative—it’s a movement to bring AI education to students in remote and underserved areas.

The launch event wasn’t just about speeches and ribbon-cutting. Students took part in a high-energy AI Hackathon, where they brainstormed innovative ways to spread AI awareness across the Northeast. The message was clear—AI is not just the future; it is the present, and it belongs to everyone.

This initiative was made possible by Techno India Group, one of India’s largest educational organizations. Meghdut RoyChowdhury, CIO and Executive Director of Techno India Group and Founder of Techno Billion AI, emphasized the importance of making AI education accessible beyond elite institutions.

“For too long, AI education has been limited to a privileged few. The next AI pioneer could come from Ziro, from Siliguri, from Imphal. AI is for everyone, not just the elite,” he said.

Leading this initiative is Abhrajit Saha, Co-founder of Techno Billion AI and Chief of Staff to Meghdut RoyChowdhury. A graduate of IIT Kharagpur, Abhrajit turned down corporate opportunities to ensure AI reaches every corner of India.

“We want a nation that doesn’t just consume technology but creates it. That’s why we are here, in the Northeast and smaller cities, to make AI a reality for students who otherwise wouldn’t have access,” he stated.

Also playing a key role is Anuradha Chandran, Business Head of Techno Billion AI, who connected with policymakers, educators, and industry leaders to make this vision a reality. Robin Hibu, IPS and DG of Delhi Police, also supported the initiative to bring AI education to underprivileged communities.

The Ziro Valley AI Lab is just the beginning. Over the next 12-18 months, Techno Billion AI and Techno India Group will launch AI labs in:

West Bengal: Expanding AI learning across Techno India Group Public Schools
Siliguri & Darjeeling: Bridging AI education between Bengal and the Northeast
Guwahati: A major AI research and industry hub
Shillong & Imphal: Strengthening AI initiatives in Meghalaya and Manipur
Itanagar & Kohima: Reaching deeper into Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland

For decades, India’s tech hubs have been limited to cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune. The launch of the Techno Billion AI Lab in Ziro Valley breaks this pattern. It proves that great minds exist everywhere, and with the right resources, students from the most remote regions can become AI leaders.

This is not just about opening a lab—it’s about rewriting the future of AI education in India. Every student, no matter where they live, deserves a chance to be part of the AI revolution. And today, that revolution has begun.
