Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL) is celebrating the outstanding success of two teams from the CSE (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) department, CodeFusers and Dharohar Dhara_TMSL, who achieved the first prize at the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024. Each team was awarded Rs 1,00,000/- for their exceptional projects, demonstrating the innovation and talent nurtured at TMSL.
The CodeFusers team, consisting of Satyaki Dey, Priyanshu Dutta, Pretisha Sahoo, Arunava Dutta, Rishi Bhattasali, and Shinjan Saha, developed an AI-Driven Crop Disease Prediction and Management System. This innovative solution uses artificial intelligence and real-time data to help farmers predict and manage crop diseases, ultimately improving agricultural practices. The project, mentored by Dr. Sovan Saha, Associate Professor of CSE-AI&ML, won the top prize under the theme sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. The team presented their project at IIT Hyderabad, competing against the best teams across the nation and securing their place at the pinnacle of innovation.
Meanwhile, the Dharohar Dhara_TMSL team, comprising Pratik Biswas, Ayaan Ahmed, Chandrima Kar, Debopriya Lahiri, Rupal Paul, Sattwikee Ghosh, and their mentor Mr. Avik Sinha, focused on preserving and promoting India’s rich cultural heritage. Their project aims to address societal challenges such as cultural discrimination and a lack of awareness about India’s diverse traditions. Sponsored by the Ministry of Education, the team presented their project at Amity University, Chhattisgarh, and earned the first prize under the theme “Ideas that showcase India’s rich cultural heritage and traditions”.
One of the biggest innovation contests in the nation, the Smart India Hackathon, invites participants to create practical responses to social and business problems. This victory illustrates the team’s technical skill and inventiveness and shows the CSE (AI & ML) department’s dedication to inspiring innovative thinking, teamwork, and quality.
The victories of both teams show TMSL’s passion to creating solutions that have practical applications in along with showcasing their extraordinary talent and creative thought. TMSL is proud of CodeFusers and Dharohar Dhara_TMSL’s accomplishments at SIH 2024, which established a high standard for future creativity and superior performance.
