Techno India Group Academia, South Kolkata, is proud to announce that two of its outstanding students were honoured at the prestigious 29th edition of The Telegraph School Awards for Excellence 2024. The awards, organised annually by The Telegraph, celebrate remarkable achievements in the fields of academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, and social and environmental contributions. This year, the event was held on two separate occasions: August 10, 2024, and August 24, 2024, at different venues in Kolkata.
This marks the first time that Techno India Group Academia, South Kolkata nominated students for this renowned event, and we are thrilled that our nominees, Shreyoshi Chanda and Sharmistha Debnath, were recipients of these esteemed accolades.
Shreyoshi Chanda received the Kalyan Bharti Trust Award for All-Round Excellence (Certificate of Merit). A true embodiment of academic and athletic brilliance, Shreyoshi achieved an impressive 80% in her Higher Secondary Examination 2024. She is equally passionate about sports, having excelled in numerous state-level badminton tournaments in Raigunj, Konnagar, Jalpaiguri, and Murshidabad, as well as competing at the national level against Andhra Pradesh. Shreyoshi’s crowning achievement is her victory in the State Championship at the Star Badminton Academy, Harinavi. Her commitment to balancing both academics and sports is a testament to her dedication and perseverance.

Sharmistha Debnath a gifted singer, was awarded the Anirban Sinha Award for Outstanding Talent in Music (Certificate of Honour). Sharmistha has a long list of musical accomplishments, beginning with her victory on Star Jalsha’s Super Singer Junior 2019* and continuing with her wins at The Hunt 2017* and Bangla Gaan Utsab (Child Category) 2013-14*. She was also the Kolkata City Winner and placed 4th nationally in Big Golden Voice Junior, 92.7 Big FM in 2017. Beyond competitions, Sharmistha is a regular performer in All India Radio’s Shisumahal programme and has lent her voice as a playback singer in popular films such as Haami, Haami 2, Kolkatar Harry, Antardhan, Raktabeej, and Shastri Virudh Shastry. Additionally, her voice has graced numerous television serials, including Devi Chaudhurani, Srikrishna Bhakto Mira, Felna, Kopalkundala, and Rani Rashmoni, among others.

Both students exemplify the values of hard work, dedication, and talent, and we wish them continued success in their respective fields.
