Charaiveti 2024 – Orientation Program at Future Business School

After much anticipation, Future Business School finally hosted their orientation program, ‘Charaiveti 2024 – a quest for wisdom.’ The main hall was filled with B.Sc. and M.Sc. Media Science, BBA, MBA, BHM, MHA and MPH freshers eager to start their journey at FBS. The event featured three distinguished speakers who shared invaluable insights with the freshers.

The first speaker, Saba Iqbal, is the Deputy Manager of Operations at Medica Superspecialty Hospital, Kolkata. She delivered a compelling talk on the importance of being presentable and communicative in hospital management. She emphasized on the necessity of being a proactive employee, prepared to face and manage challenges in the healthcare industry. Her expertise and ability to connect with the students made her session particularly impactful.

Next, Samrat Mukherjee, Vice President of Madison Communication Pvt. Ltd., took the stage. With a rich background in marketing, having worked with prominent organizations such as Tata Consultancy Services, Times Group, Zee Bangla, and Berger Paints, he focused on the importance of maintaining curiosity. He stressed that losing our curiosity can lead to stagnation in both personal and professional lives. He also highlighted the significance of embracing data analytics and AI to stay competitive in today’s tech-driven world.

The final speaker, Partha Sarkar, Regional Head of the Academic Interface Program, Human Resources at Tata Consultancy Services, spoke about leadership, compliance, and brand value. He emphasized on effective leadership skills – how they are crucial for career advancement and success in any field.

After the main orientation program concluded, the Media Science students of the 2nd and 3rd year escorted the freshers of BMS 1st year and MSc 1st year to their department. There, the senior batches held an informal orientation, sharing their experiences and insights about the media science department. They spoke about their work over the years, their relationships with faculty members, and the dynamic and exciting nature of the media field. The seniors emphasized the importance of being prepared to face any circumstances and how the department ensures students are well-equipped for the future. This informal session was a great opportunity for the freshers to connect with their seniors and gain a deeper understanding of their chosen field.

The orientation program concluded on a high note, leaving the new students inspired and ready to embark on their academic journey with renewed vigour and determination. The insights shared by the speakers, coupled with the warm welcome from senior students, provided a solid foundation for the freshers. Everyone left the event feeling happy and excited about the future prospects, eager to make the most of their time at Future Business School.
