Garia, June 12, 2024 – In a significant move towards promoting environmental sustainability and healthy living, Techno India Group Public School Garia has launched a kitchen garden project. The initiative, inspired by a recent workshop on the ‘Sustainability of Food Items,’ saw active participation from 120 students of Class VI, guided by their dedicated teachers, Saptarshi Ma’am, Mousumi Ma’am, and Solanki Ma’am, under the supervision of the school gardener.
On this day, the students enthusiastically planted various saplings, including pumpkin, brinjal, bottle gourd, and green chilli, within the school premises. This hands-on experience not only introduced them to the joys of gardening but also highlighted the broader environmental benefits of such practices.
A kitchen garden, also known as a vegetable or culinary garden, is a small area where herbs, fruits, vegetables, and sometimes flowers are grown for household use. The benefits of maintaining a kitchen garden are manifold and include:
