New Delhi, September 2026: Students from the Department of Physiotherapy under the School of Allied Health Sciences, Techno India University (TIU), participated in the World Physiotherapy AWP Regional Conference 2026 (WPAWP 2026), held on September 26–27 at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi. The two-day conference brought together more than 10,000 physiotherapy professionals and delegates from 32 countries, providing students with an opportunity to experience the profession on an international platform.
Recognised as a major gathering for the global physiotherapy community, WPAWP 2026 brought together healthcare professionals, academicians, researchers and students for discussions, workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions. The event was also recognised by the London Book of World Records with a World Record certificate for the gathering of more than 10,000 physiotherapy professionals and delegates.

For the TIU students, participation in the conference marked an important step in their academic and professional journey. It gave them the opportunity to move beyond classroom learning and engage directly with professionals and experts working across different areas of physiotherapy.
The students participated in workshops, keynote lectures and academic sessions, gaining insights into contemporary practices, developments and emerging opportunities in the field. They also interacted with physiotherapy professionals from India and other countries, allowing them to understand the wider scope of the profession and the role of physiotherapists in different healthcare settings.
A key highlight of their participation was the opportunity to interact with international experts and conduct interviews with international speakers. These interactions helped students develop their communication skills while giving them first-hand exposure to professional conversations within the global physiotherapy community.
The participation was carried out under the leadership and guidance of Dr. Amartya Sinha (PT), Assistant Director, School of Allied Health Sciences, Techno India University. For many of the students, this was their first experience attending a professional physiotherapy conference of an international scale.
The conference also provided a platform for students to build professional connections and learn from experienced practitioners, researchers and academic leaders. Exposure to such a diverse professional environment allowed them to observe how physiotherapy is evolving globally and encouraged them to look at their future careers from a broader perspective.

For TIU, the participation reflects the university’s focus on providing students with experiential learning and opportunities to engage with professional communities beyond the classroom. Such exposure allows students to connect their academic knowledge with real-world practices while developing the confidence and communication skills required for their future careers.
WPAWP 2026 therefore became more than a conference visit for the students. It served as an opportunity to learn, interact, communicate and network with professionals from across the world, offering them an early glimpse into the possibilities within the global physiotherapy landscape.
With experiences such as these, TIU’s physiotherapy students are gaining exposure to the wider professional ecosystem while taking their first steps towards building meaningful careers in healthcare and allied health sciences.
