The Gemini AI Masterclass was organised from September 21 to 23, 2026, at Techno India University, bringing, bringing students from the 2025 and 2026 batches beyond classroom theory into hands-on exploration of Artificial Intelligence and Google AI tools. Powered by Google Cloud and organised by the School of the Future, Techno India University, the three-day masterclass focused on introducing students to Gemini and encouraging the adoption of AI in academic and everyday activities.
The session was led by Arati Dwivedi, Gemini Adoption Lead, India, and Ankita Shaw, Google Certified Trainer. Arati Dwivedi guided the participants on the wider adoption of Google AI tools and discussed the Gemini Reference Programme, while Ankita Shaw conducted interactive sessions introducing students to the features and practical applications of Gemini. The sessions encouraged participants to actively explore the tools and understand how AI can be incorporated into their everyday academic activities.
Speaking about the larger objective of AI adoption, Arati Dwivedi said, “It’s about how they are utilising AI in their day-to-day life, how they are incorporating and making sure not only students, faculties, staff, the entire campus is like an AI university.”…“The most important part is creating that lighthouse effect, showcasing how we can use AI in our day-to-day life.”
Ankita Shaw explained the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and highlighted the importance of understanding its limitations while using AI tools. She said, “AI is not always accurate. AI may hallucinate or give inaccurate information. You always need to verify the information when you’re using artificial intelligence.”… “When machines start to mimic human intelligent behaviour, that’s what we call artificial intelligence.”…“The responses that we get from artificial intelligence are going to be as good as the prompts given to them.”…“Gemini Canvas is like a personal workspace where you are not just generating content, you are collaborating with AI.”
The interactive sessions mainly focused on Google Gemini and how students can make effective use of its different features. Participants were introduced to tools such as Gemini Canvas, Deep Research, Guided Learning, Gemini Notebook and image generation, along with practical demonstrations. The sessions also introduced white coding, where users can describe their ideas and requirements and use AI to develop applications and websites without writing code themselves.
A major part of the masterclass focused on prompt writing, helping students understand how giving clear and detailed instructions can improve the responses generated by AI. The session covered the importance of adding context, explaining the task clearly, deciding who the response is meant for and mentioning the preferred tone and format. Students also got the chance to try out different prompts and see how small changes in instructions can make a difference in the final output.
The masterclass also gave students an introduction to Gemini Canvas and its interactive features. Through demonstrations and hands-on activities, students explored how Gemini can be used beyond simple conversations for learning, creating content, conducting research and working on different ideas. The session focused on making AI more practical and useful in everyday academic and creative tasks.
