Day 1: Opening Ceremony & Artistic Workshops On 23rd September, over 200 students and faculty members attended this prestigious event, which was graced by Prof. Soumitra Sasmal, Prof. Dharmadas Mondal, and Prof. Subhajit Bhowmik. The ceremony laid the foundation for the workshops, underscoring the importance of continuous skill enhancement in today’s dynamic economy Students were exposed to the field of graphic design in the first session, Edit-it-Up (Graphics Designing), which covered fundamental concepts like layout, typography, and colour theory. By gaining practical expertise with programs like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, participants improved their capacity to produce polished images for branding and marketing. After that, The Render Riot (VFX and Video Editing) class gave students a basic understanding of visual effects and video editing, with an emphasis on programs like Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. The abilities needed to create engaging content for digital media and ads were nurtured during this training. Day 2: Social Skills and Problem-Solving On 25th September, focused on communication and critical thinking. In order to assist students in approaching difficult problems with creative solutions, The Stratagem (Problem-Solving and Strategic Thinking) program taught strategic frameworks like SWOT analysis and decision trees. In order to develop professional contacts in business and entrepreneurship, participants in The Social Fiesta (Networking and Social Skills) event were urged to enhance their networking and interpersonal communication skills. Students worked on public speaking techniques in The Talk Tactics (Public Speaking Workshop), which increased their confidence and presenting skills, which are essential for leading initiatives and pitching business ideas. Day 3: Photography and Entrepreneurship Through Entrepreneur’s Forge, held on 26th September where students learnt about business development, market research, and idea pitching, the third day provided insights into entrepreneurship. Numerous students were motivated to investigate entrepreneurship by this workshop. Later, the fundamentals of photography, such as composition, lighting, and post-processing, were covered in Lensation (Photography Workshop), giving participants useful abilities for media, marketing, and artistic expression. Day 4: Coding and UI\/UX Design On 27th September, the tech-focused fourth day, participants learnt how to create user-friendly interfaces for mobile apps and websites with Doodle (UI\/UX Designing). Wireframing and prototyping exercises helped students develop important digital product design abilities. Students learnt the basics of Python programming and version control using Git in The Coding Legion (Git and Python) session, which gave them a solid foundation for practical software development projects. Day 5: The Grand Finale – Hackathon On 28th September, the last day of the Skill De program, teams competed in a Hackathon to provide creative answers to real-world problems, demonstrating their design, coding, and problem-solving abilities. A few projects showed promise as new businesses, which is in line with the program’s emphasis on useful innovation. The occasion sparked innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit, demonstrating that straightforward concepts may result in ground-breaking solutions with perseverance and direction. Students who have completed this program feel more equipped to dream big and put in endless effort to make their dreams come true. Conclusion The Skill Development Programme fostered innovation, technical proficiency, and an entrepreneurial spirit through a dynamic learning environment. Through a variety of workshops in areas including design, computing, photography, public speaking, and problem-solving, this program encouraged students to exercise critical thinking and apply what they learnt to everyday challenges.
