Ramgarh | August 20, 2026:<\/strong> Ramgarh Engineering College<\/a> (REC)<\/strong>, Ramgarh, organised an Awareness Programme on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll, 2026<\/strong> through its NSS Unit<\/strong>, aimed at promoting electoral awareness, responsible citizenship and informed participation in the democratic process. The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 100 students<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session was conducted by officials from the Election Commission of India<\/a> (ECI), Ramgarh<\/strong>, including Rupesh Upadhyay, Anuj Kumar, Pradip Kumar and Arvind Kumar<\/strong>, who provided students with an overview of the SIR process. The officials explained the importance of maintaining accurate electoral records and guided participants on electoral-roll verification, correction of discrepancies, claims, objections and other aspects of electoral-roll revision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Sharbani Roy<\/strong> welcomed the ECI officials and highlighted the role of educational institutions in nurturing responsible and informed citizens. She encouraged students to understand the SIR process, verify their electoral details and share authentic information with their families and communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vice Principal Dr. Nazmul Islam<\/strong> emphasised the importance of electoral awareness among young citizens and encouraged students to understand their electoral rights and responsibilities.
