Techno Main Salt Lake<\/a> hosted<\/strong> Campus Jams #3<\/strong>, bringing together students, developers, designers, and technology enthusiasts from across colleges. The event came at a proud moment for the community, with GDG On Campus TMSL recently recognized by Google India as the Top GDG Community in Eastern India<\/strong>. Organized in collaboration with the Figma Community<\/a> at Techno Main Salt Lake<\/strong> and supported by Miro Meetups Kolkata<\/a><\/strong>, Campus Jams #3 celebrated innovation, design, and collaborative learning within the TMSL developer ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event featured engaging sessions by<\/strong> Shreyan Ghosh<\/a><\/strong>, AI and Product Design Generalist at Microsoft<\/strong>, and Ruchi Pandey<\/a><\/strong>, Designer at Intelisync<\/strong>. While Shreyan shared insights on how AI is reshaping product design and enhancing creative workflows, Ruchi highlighted the importance of visual storytelling and user-centric design in crafting impactful digital experiences.<\/strong> Their sessions provided students with valuable industry perspectives and practical takeaways on the evolving world of design and technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shreyan Ghosh<\/strong> shared, \u201cNot the entire workflow has been automated. We are leveraging AI to make certain parts of the process easier. That\u2019s why it is AI-augmented.\u201d<\/strong><\/em> He explained that AI can play different roles depending on the situation – acting as an \u201cexecution partner\u201d<\/strong><\/em> when both the problem and solution are clear, an \u201cexploration tool\u201d<\/strong><\/em> when teams know the problem but are still searching for the best solution, and a \u201cthinking partner\u201d<\/strong><\/em> when both are unclear. Emphasizing the value of AI in exploration, he remarked, \u201cYou know what hurts, but you don\u2019t know the cure yet,\u201d<\/strong><\/em> highlighting how AI can help generate ideas, refine questions, and support better decision-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruchi Pandey<\/strong> shared, \u201cAI is giving us the speed, and we as designers are giving the app the required soul.\u201d <\/strong><\/em>Through examples of platforms like Swiggy and Myntra, she explained that while AI can generate polished designs in seconds, it often lacks the emotional connection that makes products memorable. Emphasizing the importance of human-centered design, she noted, \u201cPrompts can give you amazing results, but there are things which only a human can give you,\u201d<\/strong><\/em> highlighting the role of empathy, personalization, and user understanding in creating meaningful experiences. Summing up her message, Pandey stated, \u201cAI is for saving time, and humans are for adding the soul,\u201d<\/strong><\/em> reinforcing that technology and human creativity work best when combined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, GDG On Campus TMSL has successfully organized flagship initiatives such as TechSprint Hackathon, Build With AI, Google Cloud Arcade, Solution Challenge, Blockchain and Designing Workshops, Study Jams, speaker sessions, and community meetups<\/strong>. These initiatives have impacted hundreds of students by providing opportunities to develop technical expertise, leadership qualities, teamwork skills, and real-world problem-solving abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
