The Bureau of Indian Standards<\/a> (BIS), Jamshedpur Branch Office, successfully organized the \u201cQuality with AI Hackathon 2026\u201d at<\/strong> Ramgarh Engineering College<\/a><\/strong>, creating an engaging platform for students to explore the growing connection between Artificial Intelligence, quality assurance, consumer safety, and Indian Standards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing six BIS Standards Clubs of the institute. Around 60 students from each club actively took part in the programme, which was conducted at the Seminar Hall and Smart Classroom of the college campus. The hackathon encouraged students to think beyond textbooks and develop innovative AI-driven solutions aimed at improving standardization and quality practices across industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the major highlights of the event was the Presentation Competition, where students showcased innovative projects and ideas focused on standardization, product safety, and AI-powered quality systems. The topics reflected both creativity and technical awareness among the participants. Some of the notable projects included AI-Based Smart Compliance Checker, AI-Based Smart Quality Inspection System, AI-Based Defect Detection, Fake Review & Product Quality Analyzer, Standards Aware AI, AI-Powered Compliance Assistant for BIS Standards, AI-Powered Food Quality Monitoring System, Nanomaterial Property Analysis, Privacy-First Secure Chat System with AI Moderation, AI Chatbot for Standards Awareness, and Smart Standards Navigator using Generative AI.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking about the initiative, Principal Dr. Sharbani Roy<\/a><\/strong> said that the \u201cQuality with AI Hackathon 2026\u201d provided students with an excellent opportunity to understand the importance of Indian Standards, quality assurance, and consumer safety in today\u2019s AI-driven world. She emphasized that such programmes inspire innovation, practical learning, and research-oriented thinking among engineering students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vice Principal Dr. Nazmul Islam<\/strong> highlighted that the programme successfully bridged academic learning with real-world industrial and societal needs. He added that the active involvement of students in AI-based quality and standardization projects reflected the growing technological awareness and capability of future engineers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Media Coordinator Mr. Pallab Das described the event as highly interactive and inspiring.
