Techno India University<\/strong><\/a> on May 6, 2026, as the Departments of Geospatial Science and Agriculture came together to host \u201cGeoXplore: The Earth Explorer Challenge\u201d<\/em><\/strong> – an engaging outreach programme designed to introduce students to the future of science, technology, and data-driven careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event also became a proud moment for Techno India Group Academia South Kolkata<\/strong>, whose Geography department students delivered an outstanding performance in the inter-school competition. Competing against nearly 60 teams from different institutions, the team secured an impressive third position, showcasing remarkable analytical thinking, teamwork, and spatial understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presence of Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury<\/strong><\/a>, Co-Chairperson of Techno India Group<\/a><\/strong> , Vice Chancellor<\/strong> Dr. Saikat Maitra<\/strong><\/a> and Registrar<\/strong> Prof. Sujay Biswas<\/strong><\/a> highlighted the university\u2019s continued commitment to academic excellence, interdisciplinary learning, and meaningful community engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students Payel Sarkar, Ujan Goswami, and Nirmala Dey of Class XII represented the institution with confidence and excellence across challenging segments such as the \u201cGeo Quiz Arena\u201d and advanced mapping rounds focused on GIS, satellite imagery, and real-world geographical problem-solving<\/strong>. Their achievement added an extra layer of excitement and pride to the overall spirit of GeoXplore 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bringing together nearly 325 students and teachers from schools including Delhi Public School Newtown, Aurobindo Institution, Kendriya Vidyalaya Salt Lake, along with five Techno India Group Public Schools, the event transformed the campus into a lively hub of learning, exploration, and collaboration.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme aimed to bridge the gap between classroom education and emerging professional fields by introducing students to the rapidly evolving domains of geospatial science and modern agriculture. Through interactive discussions and expert-led sessions, participants gained valuable insights into career opportunities shaped by technology, sustainability, mapping systems, analytics, and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A special career counselling session for Class 12 students became one of the most impactful segments of the day. Students explored how future-ready industries are increasingly seeking professionals skilled in data interpretation, environmental analysis, geospatial intelligence, and agricultural technology. The session encouraged many young learners to look beyond conventional career paths and consider disciplines that are shaping tomorrow\u2019s world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
